Assemblywoman Sandy Galef is Chairwoman of the Committee on Real Property Tax in the State Assembly. As the top elected official on property taxes, Galef has accomplished nothing to reduce the burden on Westchester County homeowners and voted against delivering $1.3 billion in Property Tax Rebate Checks in 2007 (A.4307-C of 2007).

According to the Tax Foundation, Westchester County pays the 3rd highest property taxes in the nation, while Putnam County families pay the 11th highest property taxes in the nation.

10/24/07 – Galef voted against an amendment (A.8006) to double property tax rebate checks for senior citizens.
